What Scares You?

The program isn’t the problem. The problem is quitting before it works.

Is It the Program You Distrust or Yourself?

More often than not, it’s not the program we don’t trust. It’s ourselves. We don’t fully believe we’ll follow through or stick with something long enough to see results. That’s why it’s so important to understand your tendencies and learn to work with them instead of constantly telling yourself how hard it all is.

Over the past 25 years, I’ve spent money on just about everything-books, programs, gym memberships, food delivery services, supplements, trainers, and shake packets. Want to know the only thing that actually worked? Me.

Here’s the truth: most programs do work. The fitness industry thrives on impatience and excuses. It banks on the fact that you’ll give a plan four weeks, decide it’s not working, and then chase the next “30 days to your dream body” promise.

We get calls all the time asking about our nutrition program. I can explain it, but you’ll probably think it sounds too simple. And that’s the point. Success comes from simplicity, because simplicity leads to sustainability.

If I wanted to make it trendy, I could slap a label on it something like The Daily Choice Plan or The No BS Diet. But honestly? We just call it coaching. There’s nothing flashy about it, but it works.

Here’s the part most people don’t like to hear: it’s not the apps, the cookbooks, the color-coded meal prep containers, or even the best coach on the planet that makes you successful. It’s the choices you make every single day. You can set up all the systems, but if you’re still pulling through the Sonic drive-thru on your way home, none of it matters.

That’s when you’ve got to be your own mom and say, “We have food at home.” Eat the meal you planned. Stick to the workout you scheduled. And then feel proud of yourself instead of beating yourself up.

Here’s the good news: when you start proving to yourself that you can push through the weak moments, you change your life. Confidence builds. You start doing things you never thought you could. Before long, you’re not just healthier, you’re a completely different version of yourself.

And yes, sometimes you need help along the way. Phil and I have a business mentor for our gym. Do we already know a lot of what to do? Sure. But knowledge doesn’t equal action. Having someone guide us, keep us accountable, and push us past the things we tend to avoid makes all the difference. The same is true with fitness. A coach isn’t there to hold magical secrets over your head. A coach is there to keep you accountable until you trust yourself again.

If you want to succeed, you can’t allow failure to be an option. That doesn’t mean you won’t hit obstacles. It means you don’t stop when you do. You put one foot in front of the other day after day, meal after meal, workout after workout. Motivation won’t always be there. In fact, most mornings, it won’t. That’s normal. You still do the work anyway.

And here’s the hard truth: the moment you’re about to quit is often the moment right before the results start showing up. Don’t quit. Let your coach talk you through it. Trust the process.

So I’ll ask you again.....what is it you really fear? The program? Or the possibility that you might not follow through?

The only way you fail is if you stop trying. If you keep showing up, keep making the daily choices, and refuse to quit, I can guarantee one thing: you will see results.
